Temporary residence card
PROCESSING TIME: 4-8 MONTHS
Who can apply: A foreigner residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland, if circumstances justify their residence for a period longer than 3 months.
PURPOSE OF ISSUE: Temporary residence permit, including for purposes such as employment or study.
PLACE OF ISSUE: We serve the area of the Masovian Voivodeship with submission at the Provincial Office in Warsaw.
PERIOD OF DOCUMENT ISSUE: Decisions are issued for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of stay for the foreigner residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland, but not longer than 3 years.
You should submit it no later than the last day of your legal stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

2 x completed and signed application forms – 2 copies of the completed and signed application for a temporary residence permit.

4 x photos – current color photographs, undamaged, sized 45×35 mm, taken within the last 6 months with a uniform light background.

Passport – Valid travel document (2 photocopies, original for inspection).

Every foreigner who intends to stay in Poland for more than 30 days is required to register. Additionally, registration is necessary to obtain a residence card, health insurance and other administrative matters.

RESIDENCE REGISTRATION

RESIDENCE REGISTRATION
A foreigner who wishes to drive a vehicle in Poland must exchange their foreign driving license for a Polish one after residing in Poland for 185 days. When submitting documents for the exchange of a driving license, the individual must confirm the legality of their stay in Poland. The exchange of the driving license is processed at the Department of Motor Vehicles (Wydział Komunikacji) relevant to their place of residence.

DRIVING LICENSE
A permit for category A work is issued by the Provincial Office (Urząd Wojewódzki) responsible for the company's headquarters. This document is essential for legally employing a foreigner.

WORK PERMIT
Foreigners staying in Poland for over six months should register their car at a Polish office. The same applies if a car is purchased in Poland with the intention of permanent residence. A vehicle purchased abroad and not yet registered in Poland may be used on Polish roads for up to 30 days, provided it remains registered in its country of origin, has a valid inspection, valid third-party liability insurance (OC), and legal license plates.
